Reading the Silver Screen (coming 13 September 2016)
Foster’s latest approaches film as a branch of literature with a language all its own. Insisting that the language of film has a specialized grammar, he examines the elements of that grammar, from screen geometry to light and shadow to the value of silence, to offer readers the tools they need to get the most from the movies. With examples from classic and twenty-first century films, the book shows that talking about movies can be as much fun as watching them in the first place.
The cover mock-up will be coming soon, so until then, something (and someone) to make you smile.
